Sorti deux mois après le dernier volume de Monster au Japon, ce livre ("Mô hitotsu no monster" en japonais, "Un autre monstre"), inédit en France, est une sorte de guidebook sur le manga.

Rédigé par Naoki Urasawa et un journaliste autrichien du nom de Werner Weber, le livre se présente sous la forme d'une enquête réalisée en Europe sur des événements réels (faits divers, meurtres, fausses pistes...) qui ont inspiré l'intrigue de Monster. Mais cette enquête est également fictive : c'est ainsi que le narrateur raconte ses entretiens avec Tenma, Runge, etc.

Cet ouvrage révèle donc plusieurs des sources d'inspiration d'Urasawa et des détails complémentaires sur certains personnages (dates de naissance, anecdotes, situation familiale...) mais n'apporte en revanche aucune réponse quant aux questions laissées ouvertes à la fin du manga.

Très dense, et réservé aux fans, il est peu probable qu'Another Monster soit un jour édité en France, Kana ayant déjà précisé à plusieurs reprises que l'ouvrage ne faisait pas partie de son planning de parution.
